Cons: The exam questions were pretty hard and were expected to be long
He is a typical American history Professor
Cons: All you have to do to make an A on his exam is read over the notes from lecture and skim through assigned novel. He is a great lecturer and keeps your attention! I did not mind going to class! First time I actually enjoyed history!
Dotson is funny and entertaining! His exams are straight from lecture and the material you will learn is actually interesting!
Cons: His lectures are boring, his TA is an ass who grades very stringently, and attendance isn't mandatory, but according to him you have to come to class in order to pass.
Don't take his class if at all possible also tests are short answer and essay format.
Cons: Only three exams and the final screwed me over for a B.
Cons: no curves and TA is a hard grader
All the notes are already on noteswap.
His TA's grade leniently!
You won't have to read the assigned books because the questions for those books are all on noteswap.
Cons: His lectures are usually dull.
If you like history, take this class. Most history classes rarely cover the material beyond the early 1900's. If you want an easy A, take this class. His lectures are goofy and dull, however, there are only 3 tests, no attendance requirement, no homework, you don't have to read the novels, the tests are simple if you read the notes the night before.
Cons: there are only three tests
Cons: can be boring, usually test cover a lot of information
good teacher
Cons: There are a ton of notes for each exam. The exams were all fill-in-the-blank, with a big essay.
Would not recommend this class as an elective.
Will round grade if show improvement in tests
Cons: Only 3 grades
Cons: None
Cons: Essay and short answer tests
Although the test is short answer and essay, he gives 3 possible essay questions before the test and puts two of them on the test but you only have to answer one.
I Love This Class!!!
Cons: No cons really, he will call you out if you are talking or if you leave class early. Study for the exams, they are easy if you know your stuff, but the TAs grade hard.
Cons: You HAVE to go to class and take good notes.
